Jaguar Classic Creates Two Extraordinary E-type Commemorative Models to Mark 50-Year Milestone
October 28 2024,
The Jaguar E-type holds an unrivaled place in automotive history as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Now, 50 years after the final E-type left the production line, Jaguar Classic pays homage to this automotive icon with two extraordinary commemorative models, crafted exclusively for a Southeast Asian collector.
A Golden Anniversary Tribute
These bespoke creations draw inspiration from the original 50 Commemorative Editions of 1974, bringing the E-type story full circle. The two vehicles represent the only examples that will emerge from the Jaguar Classic workshop, making them instant collector pieces. Each car carries subtle references to pivotal moments in E-type history, from its initial blueprint to the final Series III models, creating a bridge between past and present.
Artisanal Craftsmanship Meets Automotive Excellence
The dedication to perfection shows in every aspect of these vehicles, with each requiring more than 2,000 hours of expert attention. Both models are drophead coupes, featuring one-of-one specifications. One sports a striking Signet Green finish, while its counterpart wears Opal Black - both colors paying tribute to the original 1974 schemes. The exterior refinement extends to the interior, where Bridge of Weir tan leather seats showcase a never-before-seen hand-woven pattern, expertly crafted in Jaguar Classic's trim shop. An anodized aluminium centre console displays an engraving of an early Series I E-type blueprint, previously exhibited at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
Exquisite Interior Details by Deakin & Francis
A collaboration with Deakin & Francis, England's oldest manufacturing jeweller, adds unprecedented luxury to these commemorative models. Each vehicle features meticulously crafted details in mother of pearl, hallmarked solid silver, and 18ct gold. The front motif bar badge combines silver with guilloche mother of pearl and an 18ct gold Growler icon, while the rear displays enameled sterling silver badges. Inside, the steering wheel horn push and gear knob feature sterling silver, mother of pearl inlays, and 18ct gold Growler details. Even the instrument panel switches receive special treatment with knurled silver finishes and hallmarked silver bezels.
Modern Performance Enhancements
Beyond the visual splendor, these E-types deliver enhanced driving experiences through carefully selected mechanical upgrades. Under the bonnet, the legendary 3.8-litre engine now benefits from Electronic Fuel Injection, paired with a Jaguar Classic five-speed manual gearbox. This combination delivers engaging performance while maintaining daily usability. Modern amenities include a discrete Jaguar Classic Bluetooth radio and heated windscreen, offering contemporary comfort without compromising the E-type's authentic character.
These two E-type Commemorative models represent the pinnacle of Jaguar Classic's capabilities, combining heritage craftsmanship with modern engineering excellence. They serve not only as tributes to the E-type's legacy but as rolling masterpieces that showcase British automotive artistry at its finest.
